Who are we?

Launched in October 2016, the NYC Sustained Global Impact Community of Practice (SGI COP) taps into the unique mix of professionals and organizations working here in New York City on global sustainable development. This includes traditional actors, such as the United Nations, nonprofits, and NGOs, plus consultants, social entrepreneurs, academia, and the private sector.

As international development professionals, our bottom-line goal is to create impact that endures. We’re not alone in that. And with such a diverse community, we want to create new connections and cross-pollinate approaches, lessons learned, and impact for lasting results.

Who are our founders?

The Community of Practice was created by Elle DiLorenzo, Founder and Lead Advisor at Enduring Impact, specializing in advising like-minded organizations on how to create programs and initiatives that last, and Rich Fromer, Managing Director at LINC, an international development firm rooted in systems analysis.

Elle DiLorenzo is a global strategy advisor and sustainable development expert with nearly 20 years of experience in international affairs. A seasoned senior management strategist, Elle has worked with governments, the private sector and civil society across the international security and development fields in places such as Armenia, Azerbaijan, France, Georgia, Indonesia, Kosovo, Russia and the United States.

As Founder of Enduring Impact, she helps public and private sector organizations, social entrepreneurs and nonprofit leaders create long-lasting results, guiding clients to re-examine organizational strategy, program design and collective impact through a legacy lens. Her past work includes roles with Booz Allen Hamilton, the Center for Terrorism and Intelligence Studies, Interpol, the Economic Research Institute of the Russian Academy of Sciences and the Peace Corps. Elle has an MA degree in International Policy Studies from the Monterey Institute of International Studies, a BA degree in International Relations from Boston University and certifications in project management and change management. She speaks Russian, French and Spanish, is a Design Thinking Facilitator and is very active in the New York City international development and social impact community.
